The Opportunity
Columbia College is looking for Sessional Geography Instructors to teach the following courses in our University Transfer Program on campus.
-
GEOG 104, Climate Change and Society , section (11) – Tuesday and Friday from 10:00 to 11:55. -
GEOG 111, Introduction to Physical Geography, section (10 or 16) – Monday and Thursday from 10:00 to 11:55, or 16:00 to 17:55.
These part-time sessional positions will commence in the week of January 13, 2025, and end in the week of April 13, 2025.
Key Responsibilities
The Instructor’s primary responsibilities include planning, teaching, marking, and grading the appointed course/s.
Ideal Candidate
- Master’s degree in Geography.
- Minimum of two years of experience teaching Geography at another post-secondary institution.
- Excellent expertise with Learning Management Systems (Knowledge and experience with Moodle is an asset).
- Demonstrated success in innovative or student-centered teaching techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experience in teaching a diverse student body.
Compensation
We offer an attractive compensation: $9,056.52 for a course for a Master's degree holder and $10,108.45 for a course for a Ph.D. holder.
