Potatoes. French Fries. Taters. You love them; we make them. In fact, we produce 1/3 of the world's frozen potato products, and if you've eaten fries this week, chances are, they were ours.

At Mc Cain Foods, we understand the important role food plays in bringing families, communities, and businesses together. Guided by our mission to deliver great-tasting food that uplifts lives, we strive to create sustainable growth, working collaboratively with our partners to make a positive impact today and for generations to come.

As a privately owned family company with over 60 years of experience, a presence in over 160 countries, and a global team of 22,000 people, our values and culture are at the heart of everything we do.

We believe students are our future. We aim to hire the best and brightest interns, with the goal of offering full-time positions after graduation. Our ideal candidate is passionate, collaborative, eager to learn, and ready to take initiative.

Position Summary

We are looking for a Grant Intern to join our team and contribute to the success of the Improving Soil Health in Potato Supply Chains RCPP (Regional Conservation Partnership Program) project. This $10.4 million, 5-year project aims to support potato growers in adopting regenerative agriculture practices that improve soil health. The intern will play a vital role in helping secure funding programs and streamlining processes for supporting growers in sustainability initiatives.

You will gain hands-on experience in grant project management, grower relations, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability practices, working closely with the Grant Lead and Agriculture & Sustainability teams. The position offers a unique opportunity to develop your skills in project management, communication, and sustainability while making a direct impact on agriculture's future.

Key Responsibilities

As the Grant Intern, your tasks will include:
Grant Program and Funding Support
Assist in building a pipeline of local, state, and federal grant opportunities to support sustainable practices for potato growers.
Collaborate with growers, government agencies, and other stakeholders to streamline the grant application process.
Monitor progress and assist in outcome reporting to track the success of funded projects.
Project Management and Stakeholder Engagement
Support the planning, execution, and evaluation of projects related to regenerative agriculture practices.
Engage directly with growers to understand their challenges and needs related to sustainability funding.
Work with the Agriculture & Sustainability team to manage project timelines, budgets, and compliance.
Data Collection and Reporting
Assist in the collection and analysis of sustainability metrics such as soil health, greenhouse gas emissions, and water usage.
Prepare regular reports on project outcomes, performance metrics, and impact for internal stakeholders and grant organizations.
Contribute to the evaluation of regenerative agriculture practices and their adoption.
Advocacy and Communication
Advocate for growers and help communicate the benefits of sustainability programs, including attending meetings with governmental agencies.
Participate in conferences, seminars, and workshops to promote Mc Cain's approach to regenerative agriculture and its outcomes.
