Become a Masterful Storyteller: Grant Writer Needed to Fuel the Stigma-Free Movement!
Do you believe in the power of words to change the world?
At Stigma-Free Mental Health Society, we're on a mission to shatter the stigma surrounding mental health and create a world where everyone feels safe, supported, and empowered. We're a small and mighty charity with a big dream, and we need a passionate and skilled grant writer to join our team and help us make it a reality.
Are you a grant writing expert with a knack for turning compelling stories into funding success?
We're searching for a dedicated contract grant writer to collaborate with our President Andrea Paquette, and champion our cause. You'll be crafting persuasive proposals that ignite understanding and inspire action, helping us secure the resources we need to expand our reach and amplify our impact.
What you'll be doing:
  • Crafting compelling narratives: Writing clear, compelling, and captivating grant proposals that resonate with funders.
  • Teaming up for success: Collaborating closely with our existing grant writer for one month to maximize your training.
  • Championing our cause: Becoming an expert on our mission, history, and programs, and infusing that knowledge into every proposal.
  • Fueling our growth: Identifying new grant opportunities and managing the entire grant process from submission to reporting.
  • Tracking our progress: Keeping meticulous records of our grant applications and reporting on our achievements using Asana project management software.
Your superpowers:
  • Exceptional writing skills: 4+ years of proven experience in grant writing, with a focus on mental health a major plus.
  • Storytelling expertise: A bachelor's degree/diploma in creative writing, fundraising writing certificate, or related field that fuels your passion for persuasive writing.
  • Team player: A collaborative spirit and excellent communication skills to effectively work alongside our President.
  • Goal-oriented: A track record of success in securing funding and achieving income goals.
  • Tech-savvy: Proficient in MS Office, One Drive, and Asana (or a quick learner for Asana!).
  • Deadline-driven: Able to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines with ease.
  • Passionate advocate: A deep commitment to mental health and a desire to make a real difference in the world.
The perks:
  • Make a difference: Contribute to a meaningful cause and be part of a movement that's changing lives.
  • Flexibility: Enjoy the freedom and flexibility of contract work, setting your own hours and working from anywhere in Canada with a reliable internet connection.
  • Mentorship and support: Benefit from the experience and guidance of our existing grant writer and the Charity’s President.
  • Competitive compensation: $55/hour (up to $2200 per month + GST) for your incredible talents.
Ready to join the Stigma-Free movement?
Send your cover letter and resume to Andrea Paquette, President, SFMHS by November 15, 2024. Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis, so don't delay! This contract position commences December 2nd, 2023.
