Who you are:
A mature and customer-focused team-player with at least one year of experience in a retail role. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are comfortable in your hardware, tool, and paint knowledge.
What you’ll do:
- Smile, make eye contact with, and greet customers.
- Direct or guide customers to the location of requested items.
- Answer questions and provide friendly advice and service to customers.
- Suggest value-added and related products to customers to ensure they go home with what they need.
- Respond to and handle customer inquiries, requests, and concerns in a timely manner, over the phone and in person.
- Deal with challenging situations and resolve conflict in a professional manner.
- Keep up-to-date on in-store promotions, in-store deals, and product locations.
- Ensure that retail basics are executed efficiently.
- Stock shelves and merchandise display areas using modules and planograms as guidelines.
- Walk your assigned sections to understand what needs to be accomplished on a daily basis.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and identify/report low stock levels.
- Locate products in the warehouse.
- Operate computer and RF gun, and enter all relevant coding in Canadian Tire systems.
- Work safely, and report hazards immediately.
- Other tasks, as assigned.

- Effective written and oral communication skills, and the ability to maintain professional communication, even in challenging times.
- An ability to complete detail oriented tasks according to instructions and to demonstrate accountability for outcomes.
- An ability to work in a fast-paced team environment that provides assistance and support to co-workers to achieve common goals.
- A strong and demonstrated sense of initiative.
- An ability to multitask, adapt, and cope with challenging and changing situations.
- A positive attitude, punctuality, and solid work ethic.
- An interest in or knowledge of hardware, tools, and paint.
- Minimum one year of retail experience.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- An ability to lift merchandise items, as required, on a regular, frequent, and unassisted basis. Merchandise may vary in weight from “light” to “heavy”.
- An ability to walk, stand, crouch, and bend for periods at a time.

Pay: From $15.30 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
