Looking for a Hardware Technician for a long-term opportunity to join their growing team. You will work in an R&D environment and be an integral part of the development of innovative medical equipment used to improve people's lives. In this role, you will build, evaluate, test, troubleshoot and repair electronic boards (through-hole and surface mount) and cabling. Your responsibilities will include beta testing software systems to help our development team release a quality product, logging and tracking defects in our bug tracking system, executing manual/automated test cases to ensure design requirements are met, documenting test results and participating in engineering. reporting. In addition, you will participate in the development of electrical/electronic prototypes and work with a cross-functional team to meet project deadlines, while maintaining an overriding commitment to patient safety and product quality.
Description:
Product: Equipment to destroy heart cells that are conducting energy levels that are causing arrhythmia. This is a Class 3 medical device.

• Read and understand electrical/electronic schematics for the purposes of building, evaluating, testing, troubleshooting and repairing boards (through-hole and surface mount) and cabling.
• Beta test software systems to aid the development team to ensure quality product is released.
• Record and track defects in a bug tracking system.
• Execute manual/automated test cases to ensure the design meets the requirements.
• Document test results and participate in engineering report development.
• Participate in electrical/electronic prototype development.
• Works with a cross-functional team to ensure project timelines are met.
• In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product Quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented Quality processes and procedures.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s, college diploma or equivalent certificate in electro-technical, electronic or related field.
3-5 years of relevant experience as an Electrical Technician, ideally in a regulated industry (e.g., aerospace, automotive, etc.)
Experience operating hand and power tools, soldering and fault-testing equipment.
Technical knowledge of testing concepts for electromechanical equipment
Knowledge of ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820.
Knowledge of automation tools and processes.
English written and spoken
Work Environment
There is 42 people in the Montreal facility. There are currently 2 technicians and looking to grow the team to 4-5 people. They need to be onsite 5 days a week because they need to test directly on the product.
