Job Summary
Oxygen Yoga & Fitness in Vernon, BC, is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team. This role is essential in providing exceptional customer service and fostering a welcoming environment for our members. The ideal candidates will possess strong oral communication skills and have a commitment to educating clients about our fitness programs and services and providing guidance to safe practices.
The Vernon studio will be opening in the new year and we are looking for a core group of instructors to share this excitement with! Our brand is hugely successful because of our unique approach to Yoga and Fitness while maintaining the highest level of safety in a heated environment.
Responsibilities
  • Be able to lead some all or some of the following types of classes types: group fitness using weights/body bars, and other props, flow, hatha, deep stretch and relaxation, and many more with confidence
  • Offer an experience, not a class
  • Show up on time before a class and be there for students after each class
  • Provide feedback (from you or the students) to us to make the class better
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as needed
Qualifications
  • We are looking for certified yoga instructors, group fitness instructors, and certified personal trainers
  • Being able to teach Yin Yoga is a bonus
  • Additional certifications to teach specialized classes, or special populations such as pre-/post-natal is asset
  • Current first aid with CPR
  • Ensure that safety and injury prevention techniques are adhered to by participants
  • Ability to work early mornings, midday, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people in a diverse community
  • Please Note: A practical demonstration of teaching skills will be a component of the screening process for all candidates
  • Experience is not necessary, but an open mind and a drive to be of service to others through is a fitness must!

We will be hosting our Methodized Training starting in December/January 2025 and looking for instructors who are wanting to learn our amazing formats and methods.
Please be sure to include the following in your application:
  • Where did you take your 200 hour yoga teacher training?
  • How long have you been actively teaching?
  • Where do you currently teach?
  • What style of teaching (Yoga or Fitness) best describes you?
  • Do you have any background in dance, fitness, personal training, Pilates, etc.?
  • Are you willing to attend the scheduled dates of the Methodized Training? (Oxygen Yoga & Fitness methods and formats are offered to you at no cost ($2000 value which also count for continuing education credits).
  • Are you open-minded to learn new methods and formats?
  • What days and times are you available to teach classes once the training commences?
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Casual
Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 20 per week
