Traine Construction and Development (Traine) is currently seeking an experienced Labourer to join our team in Colwood. As a key member of our team, you will report directly to the Site Superintendent to perform tasks involving physical labour and operate a variety of hand and power tools.
Key Responsibilities

• Performs tasks involving physical labour at construction projects.
• Operates a variety of hand and power tools.
• Measures, marks and records openings and distances to lay out areas where construction work will be performed.
• Cleans and prepares construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
• Erects and dissembles scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, and other temporary structures.
• Load, unload and identify building materials, machinery and tools and distribute them to the appropriate locations according to project plans and specifications.
• Provide assistance to craft workers such as carpenters, civil team, quality assurance etc.
• Signal equipment operators to facilitate movement and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
• Other general duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a construction labourer preferred.
• Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
• Knowledge of first aid and CPR preferred.
• Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner if certified
• Must possess a valid Driver's License.
• Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods and the tools required in various construction processes.
• Strong working mechanical knowledge of machines and tools including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labour under adverse field conditions.
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
• Use of radio.

Salary Range: $25 – 34/hour
