SALARY: $60,000 - $65,000 per year + Group Insurance and Pension benefits
TERM: Full Time – 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Glooscap Defence, a wholly owned subsidiary of Glooscap First Nation, is looking to hire a manager to oversee the launch and operation of its new commercial security operation, Kluskap Security Services. This position will provide the specialized technical, administrative, and operational leadership required to operate a domestic security service in Canada. Job Duties:
· Responsible for all administrative requirements pertaining to the establishment of a security service in Canada, beginning with Nova Scotia including budgeting and financial requirements;
· Build and maintain a world-class training regimen, both in-house and externally;
· Operationalize a security service across three domains: community, private, and marine;
· Participate and lead the selection, development, management, and leadership of a team of security professionals;
· Schedule and assign staff to job sites to ensure that there are no missed shifts. This includes filling open shifts when they occur, or short notice guard requests;
· Develop and maintain solid relationships with our clients;
· Regularly meet designated client representatives for status updates and, address any concerns promptly and proactively identify problems and find resolutions;
· Manage employee performance including any disciplinary action as necessary, with input from HR and your direct reports;
· Lead business development initiatives and opportunities for economic growth;
· Maintain accurate client records, keeping track of any contract updates and renewals.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· 2 years plus, previous experience in the physical security services industry is required for this position, ideally in a management role.
· Ability to possess all security licenses needed to act as a security officer and operate a security business across all provinces and territories in Canada.
· Criminal Record Check will be required
· Experience with the full Microsoft suite of programs, MAC computers, Cloud based software, VPN, and providing assistance to others with technology issues or the willingness to learn is a strong asset.
· A team player with excellent attention to detail, organization skills and great communication skills.
· Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure.
