This role is essential in supporting our patients, physicians, and healthcare professionals by providing nuclear medicine diagnostic testing, including cardiometabolic procedures, and offering clinical assistance. You will play a key part in guiding patients through their care, educating them about the process, and ensuring their comfort. Additionally, you’ll aid physicians with technical expertise and imaging, while ensuring the safety and efficiency of healthcare teams in a radiation environment. Our team of radiologists, technologists, and support staff work seamlessly together to deliver exceptional patient experiences.
This position is very active, mobile, and fast-paced, requiring good organization, planning, and time management skills in order to keep clinic flow and physicians on time.
The successful candidate must:
· Have a strong knowledge of medication, including uses, spelling, generic vs brand name.
· Have strong medical terminology.
· Have strong computer skills (Netcare, Internet, EMR, Word, and Excel) with the ability to input data quickly and accurately.
· Be good with technology.
· Have the ability to multi-task.
· Be a fast learner.
· Proficiency in performing Myocardial Perfusion Imaging (MPI), including both rest and stress protocols (exercise or pharmacologic stress testing).
· Radiopharmaceutical handling and administration, specifically for MPI (e.g., technetium-99m, thallium-201).
· Experience in SPECT or PET imaging related to cardiac procedures, including image acquisition and quality control.
· Ability to prepare patients for procedures, position them correctly for imaging, and ensure high-quality diagnostic results.
Key Responsibilities:
· Help establish and oversee nuclear cardiology at C-health.
· Participate in regulatory applications and monitoring.
· Ensuring a robust QA program.
· Participate in scaling operations.
· Engage and participate in a highly functional and multi-disciplinary team.
· Participate in patient care, including prioritization of patient emergencies.
· Perform nuclear medicine testing on patients, including myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) testing such as MIBI and Dipyridamole tests.
· Act as liaison between patients and physicians.
· Work collaboratively with the C-health Diagnostic team.
· Ensure clear communication with physicians or clinical staff as required in the course of patient care, diagnosis, and treatment.
· Use clinical acumen to present physician team with pertinent information.
· Act as Radiation Safety Officer for facility, as well as liaison with CNSC.

Qualifications, Experience, & Requirements:
  • Certification as a Medical Radiation Technologist from an accredited program recognized by ACMDTT and CAMRT.
  • Current and valid registration with:
  • Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT)
  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
· Current BLS certification
· Current ACLS certification, preferred.
· Maintain competence in position by attending staff meetings.
· Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, good command of the English language, and excellent communication skills.
· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
· Flexibility and an ability to react quickly in a fluid and fast-paced environment.
· Self-evaluate performance, establish personal objectives, and participate in annual staff performance review.
· Experience as a Radiation Safety Officer would be an asset.
Two (2) professional references, criminal background check, and record of immunizations will be required.
