Mainroad Alberta Contracting LP is seeking a dedicated Patroller to join our expanding team! In this position, you will play a vital role in civil infrastructure maintenance. This position is based out of Winfield, Alberta, and will report to the Foreman.

What you bring:

• High School Diploma (or equivalent).
• Class 5 Driver’s License and a clean driver’s abstract (Class 3 Driver’s License with air brake endorsement would be an asset).
• Three (3) years’ experience in related work.
• Experience operating light-duty vehicles.
• Thorough knowledge of the Motor Vehicle Act and Regulations.
• Able to acquire and record accurate information on motor vehicle accidents.
• Ability to work shifts, call-outs, weekends, and overtime.
• Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions.
• Capable of performing heavy physical labour.
• Ability to work within a team environment.
• Positive attitude with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with new technology and software programs.
• Safety-conscious, dedicated, and committed.

This role involves a range of job duties, which include, but are not limited to:

• Traffic control, emergency responses, highway surface maintenance, right-of-way maintenance, highway patrolling, shoulder maintenance, drainage maintenance.
• Roadside turnout maintenance, garbage pick up, bridge washing, and maintenance.
• Road surface maintenance, roadside barrier maintenance, and repairs, pavement marking, sign installation, and repairs.
• Investigation and recording of equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
• Maintenance of vehicles, ensuring they are properly serviced and equipped.
• Performing activities such as fence repair, litter pick-up, grass cutting, shrub/tree maintenance, embankment repair, etc.
• Attending incidents/accidents to ensure public safety.
• Safely and clearly establishing lane closures, providing ample warnings to road users.
