ABOUT THE POSITION
Nahanni Construction Ltd. is accepting resumes for a Procurement and Logistics Officer. The Procurement and Logistics Officer will develop and implement cost-effective procurement strategies and arrange the associated logistics in support of Nahanni Construction and its multiple sites scattered across Canada. The Procurement and Logistics Coordinator role at Nahanni is envisioned to ensure the most cost-effective service or solution and support field operations.
SCOPE

• Coordinate logistics required to support field operations teams directly.

• Maintain and update manual and computerized filing and registration systems and compile and prepare reports and documents relating to purchasing activities.

• Develop proposals and specifications for purchases of goods and services.

• Analyze bid results for quality and cost-effectiveness considerations.

• Analyzes market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability.

• Coordinate the procurement and supply of products and services related to construction projects.

• Develop and maintain positive long-term relationships with clients and vendors.

• Communicate proactively with project site teams to manage day-to-day logistics operations and purchase order requests.

• Maintain and update the list of approved suppliers.

• Maintain and update suppliers’ records.

• Communicate daily with project site teams.

• Source, approve and finalize purchase orders for necessary goods and services and oversee site deliveries.

REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years of experience negotiating and managing service and supply contracts.

• Knowledge of sourcing and purchasing techniques and a proven ability to negotiate and network.

• Ideally well-versed in the operations of construction projects.

• Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles.

• Strong Microsoft Office skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong work ethic - ability to work in a confidential, fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

• Good analytic, critical thinking and decision-making skills.

• Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment.

• Strong attention to detail.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Nahanni is an open-shop Contractor that provides competitive pay and benefits. Compensation is dependent on experience.

• Nahanni pays for, and books travel to and from the project site. In addition, employees are entitled to a rotational travel allowance.
