What We Need:

In this role you will be responsible for overseeing Food Service staff and all food service operations. You will play an active role in ensuring all quality control, safety and sanitation procedures are maintained and that the patient expectations are exceeded on a regular basis.
Specifically, your responsibilities will include:
  • Supervise employees and daily operations of Patient Food Services
  • Performs recommended audits to ensure established food service and quality assurance standards are met
  • Monitor work flow and ability to make changes to improve quality of service
  • Ensure a patient focus approach is delivered and adhered to by all staff
  • Initiative and good judgement in dealing with operational problems, assigning tasks and meeting professional standards
  • Maintain patient service documentation in accordance with departmental policies and hospital standards
  • Completes staff performance appraisals
  • Other duties as assigned

What you bring to the role:
  • Diploma in Food Service Supervision or equivalent from a recognized program
  • Current Food Handlers Certification through the local health unit or equivalent
  • Eligibility for Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM)
  • 2-3 years supervisory/coordinator/lead experience in a hospital or healthcare food service setting
  • Solid knowledge of all food safety and WHMIS guidelines
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office and data base management systems; experience with CBORD is preferred
  • Excellent planning, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and manage deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team to achieve departmental goals and meet targets
  • Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
  • Demonstrated commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday 530-130 and 1130-730 and weekends 530-100 and 1200-730
Please note schedules may change due to operational needs.

$30.84 - $36.83
