Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-oriented Rock Truck Operator to join our team. The Rock Truck Operator will be responsible for operating heavy-duty trucks used to transport materials, including rock, dirt, sand, and gravel, to and from construction sites. The successful candidate will have experience in operating large equipment and will ensure that all work is completed safely and efficiently.

Locations: Lacombe, Camrose, Smoky Lake, Drayton Valley, Fort Assiniboine, and Edmonton.

Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy-duty rock trucks in a safe and efficient manner, following all safety protocols and guidelines
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including checking oil, fuel, and other fluids, as well as performing basic repairs
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the appropriate supervisor or manager
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that all tools and equipment are stored properly
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the construction team, including project managers, engineers, and other equipment operators
  • Operate other heavy equipment, as needed and directed by the supervisor or manager

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment, including rock trucks
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with tight deadlines and changing priorities
  • Willingness to work outdoors, in various weather conditions, and in remote locations
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders and stairs as needed
