• Collaboratively develop and implement an effective local volunteer recruitment strategy to meet predetermined targets
• Represent Shelter Movers by championing the Shelter Movers brand and values, attending community events and being active and visible in the community
• Support the development and maintenance of partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and community partners
• Compile and maintain a local key contact database for the local communities surrounding Ottawa
• Maintain regular communication with Shelter Movers Ottawa management team
• Attend moves, and storage visits in the surrounding Ottawa area as needed
• Assisting other chapter-level functions when necessary, including but not limited to supporting event planning, monthly newsletter creation, and volunteer engagement operational support
• All other duties as assigned by Leadership

• Knowledge of the local community and ability to network with other organizations and individuals
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and reliable work habits

• Access to reliable transportation is required and a valid driver’s license
• Reliable access to email and phone with ability to regularly take video meetings
• Experience with community initiatives and volunteering is preferred

• Hourly rate: $23/hour
• 1 year contract (possibility of renewal)
• 30 hours per week (flexible work schedule), some evenings and weekends availability required
• This position requires the Rural Extension Coordinator to reside within Leeds & Grenville or Lanark County
