Shift Supervisor

Perma-Pipe Canada, Ltd. is a dynamic, global supplier of pipe coating solutions and factory pre-insulated piping systems to the oil & gas, district heating and cooling and industrial markets. Our Camrose, Alberta Manufacturing Facility is now recruiting an experienced Shift Supervisor to support our growing business.
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for the direction and leadership of production staff and service administration. The incumbent must effectively and efficiently manage the development and direction of the operational team to meet production targets and technical productivity. He/she must ensure that all departments under his/her control are compliant with all applicable legislation, including but not limited to Occupational Health and Safety.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints and grievances
Promote PPCA safety management system and zero injury culture
Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the coating process, e.g. inspectors, labourers, etc.
Provide motivation for employees, increasing morale
Increase worker efficiency and production rates
Monitor and assess employee performance
Ensure that work orders are completed in a timely fashion
Work with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within and between departments
Demonstrate equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new employees, or assign employees to experienced workers for training
Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules and other records / reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and output.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma, GED or equivalent
Production experience preferred
Direct working knowledge of operations
Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering, as well as inventory control of these items
Strong knowledge of […] software systems, as well as Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and Power Point
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Meticulous records maintenance skills
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and its executive team
Strong customer service orientation
