Position: Specialist, Youth Programs (Bilingual French/English) (Full Time Permanent)
Reports to: Senior Manager, Youth Programs
Location: Hybrid (two days in the office per week). Primary location is the Lung Health Foundation’s office in Toronto, with occasional travel within Ontario and across Canada as required.
*Consideration will be made for a full-time remote position with occasional travel to the Lung Health Foundation office in Toronto for bilingual candidates in other regions of the province of Ontario or Canada.
Salary Range: $57,000 - $62,000

POSITION OVERVIEW
Join our dynamic team at an exciting time of growth and innovation! We are expanding our youth programs team, and we need a motivated, energetic individual to support this vital work. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Youth Programs, the Specialist, Youth Programs will be an essential part of the team, assisting in the planning and execution of initiatives aimed at smoking and vaping cessation and other respiratory conditions. The Specialist will support the Quash program delivery including quality improvement initiatives, program promotion and dissemination to health professionals, and growing the network of youth allies through engagement opportunities and education initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Specialist’s portfolio will focus on supporting LHF’s efforts to build capacity and expand the youth programs portfolio via a range of connected knowledge synthesis, creation, and mobilization activities.
More specifically, the Specialist’s responsibilities will include:
Program development, delivery and improvement for greater impact and support
- Coordinate, plan, and execute programming initiatives for the Quash program in jurisdictions across Canada in accordance with program funding accountabilities
- Support the delivery of educational workshops and/or presentations to young people (14-30 years) teachers, health professionals and other agencies/organizations working with youth
- Support the maintenance of Quash program elements through quality assurance initiatives by coordinating the review and updates to content as applicable and appropriate (i.e. working with key champions and/or conducting independent review).
- Collect, enter, and manage data related to various programs, offerings, and the youth programs network (i.e., partners, stakeholders, healthcare professionals, youth).
- Prepare templates to support impact reporting

Acquisition and Engagement to build a movement
Develop and implement effective outreach strategies to engage:
- Program implementation partners such as school boards, higher education institutions, youth service providers and local community to grow the youth programs portfolio
- Youth Network members by developing and implementing strategies to attract diverse youth members such as developing social media strategies, outreach events, workshops, and foster a sense of belonging within the network
- Quash Community through content collation and scheduled content communications through the online community of practice to communicate program updates, youth vaping news and research, as well as upcoming events

Collaborating with the marketing and communications team to:
- Design and construct flyers, posters, newsletters, slide decks, and various other types of collateral relevant to the youth audience.
- Provide ongoing updates and development of key message documents related to youth programs
- Identify local, regional, and national spokespeople (including youth influencers and brand ambassadors) for smoking and vaping cessation initiatives
- Identify local, regional, and national outlets for integration and cross-promotion opportunities, related to youth programs
- Gather testimonials and success stories from youth participants for marketing materials and engagement strategies

Partnerships and Development: plan for sustainable programming
- Build relationships with key community agencies and define and implement collaborative projects with the goal of raising awareness about youth vaping and other respiratory conditions.
- Conduct scans to identify government and/or grant funding opportunities to support youth programming
- Provide support in the development and submission of proposals (conferences, grants, etc.).

Operations
- Create and maintain an efficient CRM, data management, evaluation, and reporting system specific to youth programs (Quash)
- Scheduling efforts for various committees and working groups, and other meetings with internal/external partners.
- Supporting IT functions for meetings, events, and the health professional network (e.g., functioning as a power user of Salesforce, Cvent and Survey Monkey, managing Zoom and Microsoft Teams meetings and presentations, building event programs, training speakers on using these platforms, etc.)
- Promote a culture of inclusion, with a commitment to the equity, diversity, accessibility, and inclusion initiatives designed to foster an inclusive, supportive, and welcoming work environment for individuals with diverse backgrounds and identities.
- Perform cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested.
- Work cross functionally with internal teams at LHF to develop program innovations and direction.

QUALIFICATIONS
- An undergraduate degree in either a health or science related discipline, including health promotion, public health, education, or related field (e.g. marketing, communications, social sciences) and experience
- The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience in some or all the following areas:
- Experience working with youth programming initiatives
- Experience in coordinating public health, prevention, and awareness activities; strong understanding of addictions and harm reduction principles; knowledge of youth smoking/vaping an asset
- Previous experience in program management, including volunteer recruitment
- Well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills; able to establish rapport and communicate excellently with members, staff, and volunteers.
- Excellent understanding of diversity, inclusion and equity including the ability to identify and address barriers, work effectively with diverse stakeholders, and integrate equity into program design
- Knowledge product development;
- Knowledge mobilization and/or implementation science;
- Communication and marketing
- Network management (e.g. online communities, professional networks, etc.);
- Committee management;
- Fluency in French is highly valued.
- Strong project coordination skills required.
- Proficiency with Cvent and Salesforce is an asset.
