Stores Attendant III (Casual)

Positions at this level receive a variety of articles and perform related stores duties such as shipping, unpacking, checking, stocking shelves and transporting supplies.

What you’ll do
  • Receives, unpacks and checks incoming materials, ensuring that good are delivered as per specifications and completes related paper work such as signing delivery slips.
  • Assembles issues, delivers and ships goods for return and/or from requisition requests received, completes appropriate documentation and records for charging to appropriate areas, as required.
  • Contacts suppliers to resolve shipping/receiving related discrepancies.
  • Transmit faxes for the department as required.
  • Stores all goods received in appropriate space.
  • Transports stock and materials to all areas of facility.
  • Assists with physical inventories as required.
  • Cleans and rotates stock, and keeps assigned stores areas in a clean and tidy condition.
  • Performs related clerical duties including filing, as required.
  • Maintains security measures such as closing doors and windows, turning off lights and electrical equipment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
What you bring

Qualifications
  • Grade 12 plus one year recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Skills & Knowledge
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position, including heavy lifting.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
  • As a strong asset for consideration, we are looking for our successful candidate to have: Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities of settler colonialism on Indigenous Peoples and familiarity with addressing Indigenous-specific anti-racism, anti-racism and Indigenous Cultural Safety and foundational documents and legislative commitments (The Declaration Act, the Declaration Action Plan, TRC, IPS, Remembering Keegan, etc.).

Job Type: Casual (Casual is defined as on call with no guaranteed hours. Shifts can be called out via short call (1-5 hours of notice) or pre-booked).
Wage: $25.26 / hour + 13% in lieu
Location: 5544 Sunshine Coast Hwy, Sechelt, BC V0N 3A0
Closing date: Applications accepted until position is filled
Hours of Work: 07:30-15:30 shift times. On call relief for sick calls or vacation block coverage.
