Valve and Actuator Technician

About the Role
At an exciting time to join Score Canada’s Operations Team, we are looking for a Valve Technician to support efficient and compliant operation of our workshop activities and towards all related work for Score (Canada) Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for valve and actuator overhauls, pressure and function testing, recertification, along with other technician duties. This position reports to Operations Director of Eastern Canada Division.

Main Responsibilities
  • Overhaul, test and recertification of all control valves, actuators, and ancillary equipment.
  • Overhaul, test and recertification of all actuator and isolation valve types.
  • Execute overhaul or testing at remote sites (i.e., onshore, and offshore sites).
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve valve and actuator issues.
  • Provide core competence in use of valve flushing, sealant injection services, as well as in use of all torque and tensioning equipment.
  • Perform risk assessments and hazard assessments (i.e., Start Cards) on all related work scopes.
  • Provide technical support to all valve workshop teams.
  • Plan and coordinate project or shutdown work as and when required.
  • Conduct site surveys and produce detailed reports of the equipment detailed above in accordance with the client and/or the company’s requirements.
  • Ensure all workshop equipment and tooling are maintained regularly and all records kept up to date.
  • Participate in general housekeeping within and surrounding the department.
  • Support other workshops where priority dictates.
  • Escort any third-party inspectors as required.
  • Participate in any risk assessments and toolbox talks.
  • Conduct pressure and function testing of valves and actuators.
  • Conduct pressure Safety Valve overhaul and recertification.
  • Control Valve and Valve Positioner Calibration.
  • Tube Bending.
  • Conduct calibration of position indicators and limit switches.
  • Setup of Electric Actuators.
  • Participate in both the nightshift and weekend rotations.
  • Any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Diploma in Mechanical (Manufacturing) Engineering Technology, Instrumentation or similar diploma.
  • Fully competent working alone on all valve and actuator types.
