Position Overview
The AZ Driver will be responsible for operating along designated commercial routes in Canada and the US to deliver to the landfill or transfer station for disposal.


Key Functions & Duties:

• Perform pre- and post-inspections of assigned vehicle/equipment and document checks utilizing our standard forms and/or our online tools.
• Operate vehicle in accordance with YORK1's Health and Safety Rules, Programs and Policies.
• Inspect drop off area according to safety and delivery standards.
• Comply with all transportation laws and procedures.
• Communicate with dispatcher, other drivers and customers using wireless electronic communication devices.
• 12 hour shifts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Minimum 3 Year commercial driving experience

• Experience operating standard and automatic transmission (mandatory)
• Strong work ethic and commitment to safety and customer service
• Minimum 3 years driving experience with the appropriate trucks
• Driving within Canada and USA

License/Certifications/Designations

• AZ Ontario driver’s license
• Clean drivers Abstract and CVOR
• Ontario Reg 347, Transporting Dangerous Goods and EC of A training

Working Conditions

• Required to use motor coordination with arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity continuously and repeatedly throughout a 10 – 12-hour shift.
• Requires pulling, bending, twisting, climbing, sitting, and lifting repeatedly up to 40lbs (disconnect/reconnect bins/cable)
• Normal setting for this job is outdoors and/or operating equipment.
