Job Description:
Backwood Wildfire Corp is seeking motivated and experienced Wildland Firefighters to join our team for the upcoming wildfire season in British Columbia. As part of our firefighting crew, you will be on the front lines, combating wildfires in diverse and challenging environments. This position offers the opportunity to work with a dedicated team, gain valuable experience, and contribute to the protection of our natural resources and communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in wildfire suppression and containment efforts
- Operate and maintain firefighting tools and equipment
- Work in challenging terrain and under extreme conditions
- Collaborate with other crew members to ensure safety and efficiency
- Assist in fire prevention and fuel management activities
- Perform other duties as required by the crew leader
Qualifications:
- Mandatory Certifications:
- S100 Basic Fire Suppression & Safety
- S185 Fire Entrapment Avoidance & Safety
- Preferred Certifications:
- Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 1 with Transportation Endorsement (TE)
- Danger Tree Assessor (DTA)
- Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 3
- Experience:
- Previous wildland firefighting experience is highly desirable
- Experience in a crew leadership role is a strong asset

Pay: $27.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 72 – 80 per week
