Commercial Lead, CT China

Principal accountabilities
  • Developing and implementing commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth
  • Taking the lead to conduct market research and analysis to make detailed business development plans to take commercial opportunities.
  • Understanding the demand and requirements of the customers to ensure their needs are being met
  • Leading the team to develop value propositions to realize value-selling.
  • Leading diverse teams including marketing, sales, engineering, technology and customer service etc. Promote cross function cooperation embedded with strong teaming behaviours. Develop talents to build strong talent bench strength. Lead multi-level conversations to keep high employee engagement level.
  • Developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with key industrial players
  • Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management and sharing with global organizations.
  • Setting financial targets and budget development and monitoring
  • Managing internal stakeholders to ensure business objectives are achieved, escalating risk to the Managing Director, CT & PGMS China, and global CT management as appropriate.
  • Leading all activities in accordance with JM code of ethics and EHS policy and practices.
  • To take on any other duties which are within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.
Special factors
  • Travel of at least 30-50% time is expected in this role.

Qualifications/ knowledge/ experience
  • Degree likely to be in a scientific/technical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes
  • Proven experience in sales and/or marketing management and managing relationships with key clients
  • In-depth understanding of market research methods and analysis technologies and sub industries
  • Understanding of technical process features of the Catalyst Technologies portfolio
  • Demonstrable experience in the chemicals sector at a senior level
  • Significant experience managing a portfolio of technologies and processes
  • People Management / Leadership experience
  • Fluent in both English and Chinese
