Product Development APAC is leading the product lifecycle management of local and global products across the APAC region. This involves coordinating the validation process of new product initiatives, as well as the corresponding implementation and ongoing maintenance.

In particular to China, the role is also expected to coordinate within local entity as well as functions across the region in developing new product pipelines to achieve business success. Key responsibilities are:

• Enforce the governance on product initiatives.
• Develop products / investment solutions from idea incubation to implementation.
• Lead product lifecycle management and ensure ongoing compliance with relevant internal / external requirements.
• Work closely with sales, investment and internal stakeholders to promote collaboration and facilitate formulation of product pipeline.
• Conduct ad hoc analysis on market trends or new opportunities.

Direct Responsibilities

Product Development & Management

• Enforce product governance and ensure observance by coordinating with key stakeholders.
• Organize product committee to validate material product initiatives/events, such as creation, liquidation, revamp, etc..
• Develop and launch products with satisfactory time to market in alignment with strategic focus.
• Draft and organize validation of product documentation and responsible for necessary regulatory filing.
• Manage product events in accordance to established process and ensure best interest of client is taken into consideration.
• Keep abreast of latest change in regulatory requirements and ensure full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, company & group policies for both new and existing products.

Contributing Responsibilities

Product Strategy

• Understand securities asset management industry landscape, forecast and identify trends and client demand and generate insight and recommendations.
• Coordinate new initiatives by working closely with Sales and Investment to formulate solution that meets client demand.
• Review product viability in terms of performance and profitability, and recommend for action plan if necessary.
• Promote sustainability and maximize the integration of ESG policy in product design where applicable.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

• Demonstrates drive and can-do attitude to ensure the commercial success
• Strong focus on cooperation with excellent communication skills (in Chinese and English)
• Have strategic mind set while implementing with pragmatic approach
• Understanding in ESG and the corresponding implication to products and the broader industry

Specific Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in product function within asset management industry (preferably exposure with Securities Asset Management companies).
• Experience working within products strategy and development functions in recognized asset management companies.
• In depth knowledge on current market development and relevant regulatory environment.
• Passed the SAC and AMAC qualifications exam is a must
• Not currently being banned from entry into securities market
• Of sound character and good professional ethics
