Data science and technology leadership

The Position
Principle Roles & Responsibilities / Accountabilities
Data science and technology leadership

Leads and/or supports multiple elements of the drug lifecycle across various phases of clinical trials and real-world studies/projects, including early involvement at study design, statistical analyses, and results interpretation.

Leads cross-functional review of statistical deliveries and oversight statistical work from external and/or internal collaborations to ensure quality, integrity, adequacy, and accuracy.

Leads and/or supports prioritization efforts and risk mitigation in complex situations, demonstrating urgency and taking smart strategies to make considered decisions in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Builds expertise in novel statistical methods, programming languages, and analytical methodology (e.g., advanced analytics, special trial designs and types, and data handling methods), which benefit the statistical support to address unmet needs in the lifecycle of products.

Leads and/or represents Roche on health authority interactions or critical external engagements.

Follows standards across the disease areas according to Roche SOPs, China CDE requirements and ICH guidelines regarding statistics.

Leads and/or supports regular review of evidence gaps/opportunities with system awareness to simplify and innovate strategy planning.

Builds strong partnerships and collaborates efficiently with internal (e.g., global, clinical, safety, regulatory, operation, data management etc.) and external (e.g., health authorities, vendors) stakeholders to support evidence generation and policy making, in line with strategic plan, in an impactful, professional, and agile manner.

Continuously look for opportunities to broaden knowledge, capabilities and skill set to enable talent to flow into different Specialties and Disease Areas.

Role model knowledge sharing within team, MED&PHC and beyond.

Acts as a coach or mentor to help internal and external stakeholders grow and develop by shaping statistical mindset in clinical/medical science.
Qualification and Experience
- Education/Qualifications
- College degree or above in statistics, bio-statistics, or other related major
- Prerequisite qualifications for employment as Biostatistician for pharmaceutical R&D or Medical
- 2-3 years’ experience to work as Biostatistician in multinational pharmaceutical company or Clinical
- Research Organization, experience in oncology trials is mandatory
- Job Required Competencies
- Application of a wide variety of statistical techniques in clinical development
- SAS programming
- Business acumen
- Be able to handle technical discussion in English
- Travel Frequency
