What you will do:
This role is a key part of the Digitalization and Service Enablement (DSE) team within the HVAC/R Chiller Engineering Organization. The DSE team is tasked with helping Johnson Controls do more with chiller data to provide valuable offerings to our customers and powerful tools to our internal teams.
The Digital Staff Engineer will support this work by coordinating with the China-based chiller product engineering teams to translate their subject matter expertise into methods for monitoring and servicing chillers with reduced human intervention. This includes finding ways to use chiller data to see potential issues before they happen across the whole portfolio of YORK chillers. Additional activities may involve chiller lab testing to prove out ideas, data analysis, process improvements, product design enhancements, identification and improvement of Fault Detection Diagnostics rules, implementation of Digital Twin technologies, and other methods to move from time-based maintenance recommendations to proactive condition-based recommendations. The Digital Staff Engineer will also need to work with teams outside of the chiller organization to incorporate new concepts into the Open Blue Connected Chiller product offering enhancement roadmaps.
All of these tasks require strategic problem-solving skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to clearly present information to engineering teammates, engineering managers, product management, digital software teams, and regional service teams.

How you will do it

• Lead cross-functional teams without direct supervision to drive the completion of digitalization programs and regularly report on the status of projects
• Work closely with the chiller product teams in implementing NPI process improvements that support improved digitalization of chillers, and generating service enabling product enhancements, while balancing cost, performance, and reliability
• Generate and review technical documentation for use within the product team to help make decisions and set direction
• Coordinate and execute test programs to validate potential methods of reducing human intervention for service and maintenance of chillers and their components
• Analyzes, designs, modifies and/or troubleshoots mechanical sub-components and sub-systems based on test data

What we look for

• BS in Engineering, Data Science, or related field
• 8-10 years of experience with chillers, HVAC equipment, or service
• Proficient with organizing and processing large amounts of data
• Experience in research environment and with product development processes
• Skilled in written and Oral English

• 良好的英语听说读写能力。
