Your ‘day to day’
PMES operates as a subsidiary of Philip Morris International, Inc. in Shenzhen. As a Project Lead representing the company, you will establish and communicate technical requirements and high-level firmware designs. Assist in the definition of firmware development process in order to build effective, long term and high-quality strategic partnerships to extend the company's design capabilities.


Responsibilities:

• Define and deploy the FW architecture to assigned electronic device projects, ensuring proper knowledge management and documentation.
• Understand the technologies behind electronic devices to identify non-functional requirements and technical challenges in the early stage of the development process.
• Define and communicate reusable FW architectural designs while ensuring detailed designs and final FW products remain synchronized with the defined architectures, internally and with external development partners
• Lead the FW risk assessment and mitigation process during the requirement elicitation phase and architecture definition phase, ensuring that the architecture includes risk mitigation. Communicate residual risks to project team members and align requirement modifications to remove or diminish associated risks.
• Play the role of SME for FW topics and cross-functional digital/ connectivity platform projects.
• Support the problem-solving and decision-making processes based on objective data / software technical knowledge. Participate to critical design reviews and to the change management process.
• Keep up-to-date with applicable new technologies, methodologies and tools. Propose new solutions applicable to the device development team and more specifically to the FW development team. Represent the company in FW technical forums as appropriate.
• Strive for continuous improvement and adherence to the PMI device development processes, design procedures, work instructions and product documentation best practices in line with the global device development team.

Who we’re looking for

• Bachelor degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent. Postgraduate degrees with research background is a plus.
• 10+ years experience in embedded firmware system development for medical electronics products/ consumer electronics devices/ automotive industries etc.
• At least 5 years experience in leading development projects
• Priority will be given to candidate with experience in cloud backend development, mobile app development, web browser development, data analytic, artificial intelligent or machine learning.
• Certified Scrum Master, Certified Product Owner or equivalent knowledge & experience.
• Understand the role & responsibility of device FW in a cloud-based Io T ecosystem in delivering the outstanding user experience.
• Strong mindset in software development process to ensure quality and traceability of the software deliverables. Able to foresee the risks and implement the risk mitigation plan during the development stage.
• Strong analytical approaches and strong system debug skill.
• Proficient in verbal and written English with effective communication skills.
