About Role
We are seeking a collaborative educator who is committed to understanding and supporting each student on their college and career readiness journey. This wide-ranging position includes group and individual work, parent communication, supporting with writing and application preparation, in line with the four-year holistic ‘Dulwich Success Plan’. The postholder will be a full member of the academic faculty, serving as a form tutor and mentor, leading a Co-curricular activity, performing duties as required of academic faculty, joining trips local/overseas (which may take place outside term time) and being involved with school and student events and professional learning.


Our School
Dulwich International High School Programme Suzhou is the school of choice in Suzhou for parents who wish their children to gain the skills and education necessary for them to be successful in non-Chinese universities. The major destinations for all of our students are the USA and the UK. Our school is home to almost 700 students who study IGCSE and A levels. Our students ask for excellence in teaching and they work hard to achieve offers from their universities of choice.
We offer a personalised academic curriculum that ensures students leave us with the knowledge and skills to access the world’s best universities. Because we believe in developing the whole child, we also have a thriving co-curricular programme in which all students and all teachers participate.
Suzhou is known as the ‘Venice of the East’. It has a long and colourful history based around the waterways in the province. Much of Suzhou is designed around the lakes and canal system and it makes for wonderful walking, cycling and exercising opportunities. Suzhou is a vibrant city that with an enriching art and performing culture that also offers many scenic areas of peace and tranquillity. Public transport is cheap and easy to use. The city is also one of the most multi-cultural in China and offers food and drink from all around the world.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

The successful candidate must be

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Familiarity with and understanding of recent developments in higher education
• Relevant experience in an international school setting
• Complete fluency in English (equivalent to mother tongue)
• Technologically competent in basic resources and programmes: MS Office tools, Teams, etc.
• Understanding of and experience working with non-native level English-speaking students and parents

Dulwich International High School Programme Suzhou, was the sixth school to join the Dulwich College International family of schools in 2012. We are made up of over 700 students from age 14 to 19. Although our student body is predominantly Chinese, we are open to all nationalities and have a particularly diverse faculty from over 20 countries. We provide students an academically rigorous, challenging and rewarding international curriculum, designed to offer the very best preparation for entry to universities worldwide. Cambridge IGCSE and A Level courses are taught across three and four year programmes alongside internally-designed programmes and a co-curricular offering of over 80 clubs, societies, and teams.

The 56 classrooms include custom designed science labs, a library, a black box theatre, music practice rooms, sport fields, a roof garden and a medical centre. We have a coffee shop, bread bar, fitness room, dance studio, dining room with a la carte Chinese and Western options, and plenty of social space around the school.
