• Lead the execution of environmental impact assessments for energy projects, overseeing assessments of air quality, water resources, and biodiversity.
• Identify and evaluate potential environmental risks, and develop innovative mitigation measures to minimize adverse impacts.

• Lead due diligence assessments to evaluate environmental and social risks associated with energy projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards.
• Conduct thorough audits to assess environmental compliance, social standards, and financial requirements.

• Develop advanced and tailored mitigation strategies to address complex environmental and social risks, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Provide strategic guidance to project teams on integrating mitigation measures into project plans and financing agreements.

• Lead collaboration efforts with engineers, economists, legal advisors, and other professionals to analyze data and assess project feasibility.
• Provide expert environmental insights to inform decision-making processes and enhance project design.

• Prepare detailed and insightful environmental reports for stakeholders, including investors, financiers, and regulatory authorities.
• Effectively communicate findings, risks, and mitigation strategies to support project financing activities and decision-making.

• Mentor junior consultants and provide guidance on complex environmental issues, project management, and client engagement.
• Support proposal preparation and client liaison activities, ensuring alignment with project objectives and environmental requirements.

• Travel internationally to conduct site visits and assess environmental, health, safety, and social aspects of energy projects.
• Review environmental documentation, compliance measures, and project implementation on-site, providing expert recommendations.

• Provide oversight and support for project management tasks, including budget monitoring, schedule management, and milestone tracking.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure the timely delivery of environmental deliverables and compliance with financing requirements.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Sciences, Biology Ecology, Environmental Engineering, Geology or related field. Ph D would be advantageous for the position.
• Experience in environmental assessment methodologies and compliance with project financing environmental and social standards.
• In-depth understanding and application of IFC Performance standards as well as BID/EBRD/Equator Principles or other international Lenders’ Environmental, social, health and safety standards.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English and Spanish at a technical and professional level.
• Advantageous abilities include knowledge and experience performing air quality and noise monitoring/modelling, and/or experience in the use Geographical Information Systems (GIS) software.
