QA Engineer (Mock and Performance APIs)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Back End Automation Tester focused on API, services, and integration testing. The ideal candidate will be proficient in service mocking, HTTP tracking, scripting with Java Script, Python, and Power Shell, and performing log and trace analysis. The role also involves some stress and performance testing, utilizing various test tools. While the primary focus will be on automation, there will be some manual testing responsibilities.
This role does not involve UI Automation testing or back-end languages like .NET or Java.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Systems Engineering Professionals or related careers.
Experience of six (6) months or more.
Strong Proficiency in API, Services, and Integration Testing.
Experience with Service Mocking and HTTP Tracking.
Proficiency in Scripting Languages: Java Script, Python, and Power Shell.
Skilled in log and trace Analysis.
Familiarity with stress and performance Testing Methodologies.
Hands-on experience with Test Tools: Postman, Soap UI, JMeter, Insomnia, and similar tools.
Basic understanding of CI/CD Processes and Tools, with optional experience in Jenkins.
ISTQB Certification is desirable.
Ability to add QA steps to CI/CD Pipelines.
Strong English language skills, with experience in Nearshore Projects Highly Preferred.
Passport required; US Visa desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop automated test scripts for API, services, and integration testing.
Perform service mocking and HTTP tracking to simulate real-world scenarios.
Write and execute scripts in Java Script, Python, and Power Shell for test automation.
Conduct log and trace analysis to identify and resolve issues.
Execute stress and performance tests to ensure system reliability and scalability.
Use test tools such as Postman, Soap UI, JMeter, and Insomnia to validate APIs and services.
Participate in some manual testing as needed to complement automated tests.
Add QA steps to CI/CD pipelines, with a focus on Jenkins.
Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage and high-quality deliverables.
Maintain strong communication and documentation skills, particularly in English, for nearshore project collaboration.
Travel occasionally for short-term assignments in Brasil, Panamá, Jamaica, and other Caribbean countries.

Working Conditions:

Workplace: Bogotá.
Work Modality: The first month will be fully onsite (Hybrid model thereafter, three days per week at the Thales office)
Type of Contract: Indefinite Term.
Salary: To be agreed according to experience.
Occasional travel required one or two week stints abroad.
