About the Role: Director of Purchasing
Reporting To: Director of FinanceOverseeing: Receiving Clerk, Purchasing Coordinator, Storeroom Clerk
Your Mission
As the Director of Purchasing, you will be the maestro behind the seamless flow of the hotel’s essential supplies. Your leadership will ensure that every department is fully equipped to deliver excellence, from the kitchen to guest services. You'll maintain an impeccable standard of integrity, fostering transparency with business partners and securing the best deals to uphold the hotel’s reputation for quality and efficiency.

What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: 5+ years in hotel purchasing (including 2 years as a Hotel Director of Purchasing) and extensive knowledge in procurement.
- Education: College degree or equivalent experience.
- Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, fluency in English and Spanish, and a talent for negotiation to secure favorable supplier terms.
- Mindset: Strong project management, a keen eye for budget analysis, and a proactive approach to staying updated on industry trends.
- Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading teams in a hotel setting, inspiring excellence and professional growth.
- Integrity: A high standard of ethical conduct, transparency, and trust-building with stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Superb relationship-building skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, and hotel management.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills to prepare impactful reports and presentations.
- Innovation: A continuous learner with strategic thinking skills, always seeking opportunities for improvement and growth.
- Ensure all hotel purchasing activities comply with local and corporate policies, managing competitive bids and maintaining contract integrity.
- Collaborate closely with the Chef and Food & Beverage Director to procure the best quality products at competitive prices.
- Lead month-end, quarterly, and annual inventories, ensuring accurate tracking and control of supplies.
- Conduct quality audits to maintain high standards in storage and hygiene.
- Manage and mentor the purchasing team, fostering a culture of learning and professional development.
- Maintain strong, professional relationships with vendors, leveraging these for hotel advantage. Actively participate in safety and sustainability initiatives, aligning with the hotel’s values.
- Uphold hotel standards by maintaining an organized, secure, and clean storeroom environment.
- Support the Finance Director in forecasting and budgeting. Stay engaged with hotel management, providing input on new products and trends to enhance services.
- Proven leadership in a luxury hotel environment.

- Ability to adapt, lead cross-functional projects, and navigate challenges with strategic solutions.
