Make your mark for patients


We are looking for an Access Lead Czech Republic who is eager to join us in our local commercial operations team, based office in Prague, Czech Republic.


About the role


As an Access Lead you will develop and execute pricing and access strategies for UCB’s current and future products, focusing on immunology and rare disease/neurology. You will lead early engagement with key external stakeholders (Payers, KOLs, PAGs) for UCB’s pipeline products and drive innovative contracts to secure patient access at premium prices.


What you’ll do

• Generate and provide ecosystem and competitor insights related to targeted therapeutic fields / indications.
• Negotiate, in close collaboration with local Patient Value Units (PVUs) with the P&R Authorities to obtain price & reimbursement to maximize the commercial potential of new / pipeline products.
• Collaborate with the pricing team to align both gross and net pricing with UCB’s overall strategy.
• Analize qualitatively and quantitatively the drivers of success in P&R and access strategy.
• Work in close collaboration with internal stakeholders on access strategy, planning and execution.
• Communicate needs and requirements to successfully launch pipeline products in Czech Republic.
• Build and optimize relationships with external stakeholders (Payers, KOLs, PAGs) in relevant therapeutic fields to support Patient Access.
• Maintains a network of relevant contacts with public Authorities and within the industry (Pharma Trade Associations) in Czech Republic to obtain early insight on future trends and enable UCB to co-shape the Health Care environment.
• Works towards aligning Affiliate and Area access plans.

Interacts with all relevant local / EU / global internal stakeholders to influence P&R and access strategy.


Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills

• Bachelor’s degree in science (medical, pharmacy, biology, economic), or health economics.
• Strong track record from Market Access in a pharmaceutical company or consultancy and/or as a Payer from the health care sector. In addition, you have experience with external stakeholder engagement and a passion for establishing partnerships internally and externally.
• Very good understanding of functionality and relationships in the health care systems in Czech Republic.
• Well connected with relevant external networks.
• Experience of developing and using innovative P&R and access strategies in launching pipeline assets (Innovative Contracting / VBAs).
• Effective Team player who can engender credibility and confidence within a matrix organization supporting the UCB values.
• Analytical capability quantitatively as well as qualitatively.
• Commercial acumen and experience from cross functional settings, within market access and across functions.
• Experience gained in multinational setting.
• Very good oral/written communication in English and Czech.
