Design Development Manager

Design Development:
- Collaborate closely with Design, Creative Sourcing, and Production teams to manage development from sketches to pre-production samples for specific collections.
- Oversee Cost, Quality, and Time aspects of New Product Development.
- Conduct product development meetings to align on status updates and deliverable timelines.
- Utilize technical expertise to address and resolve potential delays, cost, quality, production, and legal issues throughout the development process.
- Manage prototype and sample reviews with Creative Directors.
- Handle all edit requests post-prototype and sample reviews.
- Take full ownership of the sample approval process.
- Ensure development cycles adhere to the established timeline.
- Identify high-risk designs early in terms of quality and cost, coordinating early testing/wear testing with the quality team.
- Initiate and manage the development of cost and quality alternatives, as necessary.
- Work closely with the quality team to ensure timely testing during the development cycle process.
- Gather, consolidate, and provide critical information to key stakeholders to facilitate decision-making.
- Create and manage updates on product development status for management.
- Represent Design & Production teams at cross-functional alignment meetings, serving as the knowledge source for new designs and materials.
- Participate in Material Sourcing and Development meetings.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in product development within the jewellery industry or a similar field.
- Extensive specialized product knowledge within the jewellery industry or a related sector.
- Extensive knowledge on product development and the process within the jewellery industry or a related sector.
- Strong problem-solving, structured and detailed person with complex analysis skills.
- Highly motivated, results-oriented, and proficient in reporting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of delivering structured and clear presentations in English.
- Passion for Design and the Product Lifecycle/Development process.
- Collaborative team player; comfortable with a fast-paced environment and shifting priorities.
- Open minded with ability to listen to and analysis various option and make decision.
- Ability to work autonomously even without detailed instructions.
- Detail-oriented without losing sight of the big picture.
- Ability to consolidate complex information and provide clear guidance to stakeholders.
- Keen eye for visual design aesthetics, particularly in jewellery and visual presentations.
- Proficiency in MS-office suite is a must, esp Excel and ppt.
- Experience with Agile Development is an advantage.
- Proficiency in PLM systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of rapid prototyping (3D printing, etc) is a plus.
