For our Innovation Center in Hillerød, we are looking for a lead mechanical engineer with a natural leadership profile to join our committed group of people in FOSS R&D. You will help us develop world leading instruments from concept until release to production and sales. Being first and best takes something extra. We work at a high pace with highly skilled and motivated colleagues in multidisciplinary projects. It is challenging and fun - and requires highly proficient people with a proven track record of delivering high quality products. Maybe that person, is you?
The job
You will get unique opportunities to work with all aspects of mechanical development both as mechanical developer and coordinator of the mechanical development in the project. As the lead mechanical engineer, you will be overall responsible for developing the mechanical design and deeply involved in the design process. You work with the most advanced technology, in strong teams working after agile principles, together with highly skilled colleagues that are experts within their fields.
You will be part of all project phases from concept- and system design, to development and test including design for X, and transfer to production, sales and service. You will be part of the Laboratories R&D Program, where you join a highly skilled team with a deep insight into the most important design criteria and requirements for our customers in this industry.
We work in a matrix organization, and value professional development highly. You will also be part of the Mechanical Group where you will find mechanical backbone in our professional community, together with all mechanical engineers (lead and specialists) working in other projects and programs.
The candidate
You love mechanical product development and are not willing to give up your CAD work. At the same time, you have a strong mindset to take responsibility and leadership within all disciplines and understand the balance of being involved and letting people work independently.
As a person, you are communicative, well structured, committed and a strong team player. We expect you have a positive mindset even when things challenge you and deadlines are tight. Finally, you must share our values and passion for mechanical and technology development at a very high professional level.
Qualifications
You hold a degree in mechanical engineering and must be fluent in English and Danish.
The preferred candidate will have minimum 5 years working experience in most of the following:
- Multi-disciplinary product development processes in all phases of development
- 3D CAD (We use Autodesk Inventor)
- Instrument design
- Planning, coordination, and communication
- Agile development and continuous design and review
We offer a demanding job in an international and innovative company that is world leader in its field. You will get the opportunity to collaborate with many talented people across different field of expertise, and you will be working with developing advanced technologies to make a real difference for our customers.
Our working culture is based on trust and teamwork, and you can expect to enter a great working place where you can bring your ideas to the table and make a real difference. There will be some travel activity to visit our subsidiaries and customers.
If you want to know more about the position you are welcome to contact Anne Sofie Elberg Nielsen, e-mail asnn@foss.dk.
