Do not worry. You do not need to know how to fly a drone. We will teach you. But if you know how to create structure within operations, keep reading.

In this global role, you will join us early in the process as we begin a whole new era of drone logistics. You will be part of implementing the latest technology that will set the standard for the entire industry. And who knows, perhaps one day you will set up your own team within drone operations.

“You’ll join our new Centre of Excellence for drones. Everything has already been through a thorough innovation process, and now we have a setting where we can make decisions fast and work globally to make our drones soar,” explains Mathias Vinter, Head of Drone Excellence.

A new team with global reach
Based out of our HQ in Hedehusene, Denmark, you will join our new Drone Excellence team. Here, we work with our Airbridge concept. It revolves around drone deliveries of essential products and vital goods, like spare parts for wind turbines, medicine, or blood samples – and the deliveries will be made based out of our local offices across the globe. We have worked with drones for a couple of years, but just now have a formal division for it.

Together, we are 3 colleagues, including Mathias, as well as a commercial and a technical project manager. Right now, we are focusing on getting our drones in the air in Norway and Germany, but we are excited to roll the concept out globally.

“Already by next year, you’ll have drones in the air and operate the drones remotely. And perhaps with time, you’ll set up your own team of ‘drone pilots’ across the globe,” says Mathias.

Create high operational capacity for our drones
You will be instrumental in generating high operational capacity by minimising downtime of our services and delivering safe and precise operations. Operating our drones, which will carry cargo from 3-85 kg remotely, and intervening if errors occur.

Rolling out our Airbridge concept in our different countries, you will:

• Develop detailed operation plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
• Lead and motivate operations teams and operational stakeholders such as warehouse staff and ground handling staff.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration among team members.
• Identify and engage stakeholders, understanding their needs and expectations.
• Provide regular updates and manage stakeholder communications.
• Track the operational progress in different operations.

A good sense of structure and the ”we can do it” entrepreneurial mindset
These traits will get you far. Because you will be launching a new technology and working within some standards where we need to find a way in difficult environments. Moreover, you can document needs and challenges within the operational environments, make decisions, and find solutions.

There is no one path leading into this position. So, aside from being willing to learn, we imagine that you:

• May have some experience from logistics operations and some technical know-how or...
• ...could be an air traffic controller, a pilot, or have a military background.
• Might have some experience from the drone or aviation industry.
• May have experience with operating autonomous technologies.
• Are fluent in English.
