Principal Engineer – Subsea Engineering

About the position:
As our new Principal Engineer - Subsea, your role will involve developing and promoting subsea solutions from a technical perspective, both internally and externally. You will serve as the technical project manager of the strategic subsea projects, and be a key link between stakeholders, securing the resources needed for successful project execution.
You will join our R&D team in Bramming, collaborating with experienced colleagues from Denmark, China and Mexico on the development, procurement, installation, and execution of test and validation projects with the Subsea area. Additionally, you will provide daily mentorship and support to engineers, ensuring their visibility and availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive and lead the solution group for subsea products, serving as a bridge between technical and commercial competencies.
- Oversee the future roadmap for technologies within the subsea domain, ensuring alignment with overall company strategy and the business line lead from our commercial team.
- Evaluate patents and conduct Freedom to Operate (FTO) analyses within products within subsea.
- Actively participate in review processes, ensuring high product and service quality.
- Conduct technical 360° reviews during project execution, collaborating with other experts.
- Define and set technical acceptance criteria for products and solutions.
- Contribute to R&D projects with varying levels of engagement, depending on project phase.
- Develop best practices, guidelines, and technical direction for the future of subsea products at Polytech.
- Provide technical support during customer meetings alongside engineers in the competence centers.
- M.Sc. or Ph D in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in technical project management, including stage-gate models.
- Expertise in mechanical design, material properties, and interactions in subsea engineering.
- Familiarity with polyurethane, composites, and steel structures.
- Experience with Design for Six Sigma and 8D problem solving.
- 3+ years of experience in a relevant position.

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English, with individuals at all levels
