Student Analyst - Flagship Investment Team

We are currently looking for an ambitious Student Analyst to join the Flagship Investment Team in Copenhagen. The Flagship Funds are the largest in CIP and invest in renewable energy infrastructure in OECD countries with the objective of generating attractive risk-adjusted returns and long-term cash flows with low correlation to the business cycle. The latest Flagship Fund (CI IV) became the world’s largest green infrastructure fund when it closed at EUR ~7bn in 2021. Currently CIP is fundraising the fifth Flagship Fund (CI V) with a target fund size of EUR 10bn to 12bn making it the world’s largest dedicated greenfield renewable energy fund globally.
About the team and the position
As a Student Analyst in the Flagship Fund you will contribute to transaction processes, preparing for investment decisions, and various other investment team tasks. You will work closely together with our highly experienced investment team in an international and dynamic environment. We will constantly seek to inspire you, with a clear focus on your learning and personal development. We aim to provide opportunities for you to expand your skills and knowledge through courses and resources, helping you grow both professionally and personally. Working with our skilled team members, analysts will build a strong commercial and contractual understanding of renewable energy infrastructure projects and how they are financed. Furthermore, as an analyst you will be part of a program designed to develop your skills and qualify you for a potential full-time Associate position upon graduation.
Key work areas

Preparation of Investment Committee materials
Visualization and presentation of technical and financial data to stakeholders
Financial modelling of large complex infrastructure assets and transactions
Working together with industrial partners and advisors
Ad-hoc analyses in close cooperation with other investment team members

The position is part-time and based in central Copenhagen. The workload will vary depending on the numbers of projects you are working on, and you will be given the opportunity to influence your daily routine and schedule. Additionally, we are committed to providing flexibility for our analysts during exam periods.
About you
CIP is looking for 2nd and 3rd year BSc students and 1st year MSc students in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or similar. Moreover, we value:

Excellent academic achievements
Strong communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English
Interest in corporate finance, strategy, and renewable energy
Strong Excel and Power Point skills
Strong analytical aptitude and structured and project-oriented approach to work
Ability to deliver high quality output under pressure and tight timelines
Eagerness to learn, entrepreneurial mindset and spirit of inquiry
Strong ability to work independently while still being a team player
Experience in energy and infrastructure is an advantage, but not a requirement
