We seek an innovative and experienced Economics Studies teacher to join our committed Business Studies and Economics department. The successful candidate will teach Economics across Key Stage 4 and 5. Previous experience of teaching Economics GCSE in the UK or in a British international school is essential; knowledge of the IB Diploma is desirable.
The successful candidate must demonstrate a love of subject and a commitment to best classroom pedagogy, through continuous professional development. The Business Studies & Ecomomics department is hugely popular at BISC, and students often aspire to study the subject at IB Higher Level; this post is in response to increased popularity of the subject at IB level. We seek a candidate who can inspire and further enhance our students' enthusiasm, and secure their success in this subject.
Person Specification:

• a graduate in Economics or related degree with qualified teacher status;
• enthusiastic and innovative teacher with a genuine passion for teaching, who can motivate and inspire students using a variety of strategies;
• recent experience teaching the British national curriculum, (i)GCSE, A level or IB;
• understands how to stretch more able and secure progress for all students;
• works as a member of a team in a collaborative manner;
• committed to their professional development;
• enjoys the opportunity to participate in co-curricular activities;
• meets our child protection, safeguarding and safer recruitment policies requirements in full.

All staff are expected to show a genuine commitment to supporting co-curricular activities, school events and school trips. To comply with Egyptian employment law, applicants must have QTS and a minimum of three years teaching post qualification teaching experience.
