Your role and responsibilities
We are now looking for a Lead Engineer to join our team at ABB Oy, Process Industries in Finland. In this role, you will be leading a group of technical specialists and subcontractors in domestic and international electrification projects mainly delivered to battery manufacturing, pulp & paper, mining, metals and hybrid industry customers. You will mobilize technical experts to work towards a common goal as one team and be in charge of technical solutions and best practices during the project implementation. Additionally, co-operation with customers will be an essential part of your daily work. Possible locations for the position are Vaasa, Pirkkala or Helsinki where you will work in a flexible hybrid environment. You are expected to travel approximately 20-30 days a year. The work model for the role is:#LI-hybrid You will be mainly accountable for: • Leading a group of technical specialists and subcontractors in domestic and international electrification projects • Taking responsibility for technical solutions and best practices during project implementation and supporting the project manager • Planning and leading the technical implementations in projects towards handover taking into consideration the schedule and budget • Acting as the first point of contact for customers in technical matters related to the projects • Supporting marketing, sales and project organization to ensure that all technical solutions are correct from the very beginning to the completion of the projectsQualifications for the role
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. level degree in electrical engineering
- Previous work experience in electrical engineering and the ability to understand and apply your expertise in power distribution and/or process electrification system related solutions
- Knowledge of industrial processes, especially in process industry is seen as an advantage
- Strong collaboration and people skills with ease in communicating with different audiences
- Ability to work with global clients and ABB colleagues from different countries and backgrounds
- Capability to manage the big picture while acting as a technical expert and delegating tasks as needed
- Fluency in English and Finnish, both written and spoken
- Other language skills (such as Swedish) are considered a benefit

The Process Industries Division serves the mining, minerals processing, metals, cement, pulp and paper, battery manufacturing, and food and beverage, as well as their associated service industries. The Division brings deep industry domain expertise coupled with the ability to integrate both automation and electrical systems, increase productivity and reduce overall capital and operating costs for customers. For mining, metals and cement customers, solutions include specialized products and services, as well as total production systems.
