We are looking for a Senior Strategist to join our growing team at dentsu
The Senior Strategist is responsible for holistic communication planning for clients, considering all bought, owned, and earned channels to create consumer experiences with no “dead ends.” This role also includes consulting. Depending on your background, you could consult on e Commerce, Brand Strategy, Retail Media, CX or Digital capabilities, or other marketing-related topics.
The Senior Strategist partners with insights, data & communications planning teams, and clients to create strategic outputs, including insight generation, cultural narrative, consulting, media briefs, creative media solutions, and go-to-market activations.
The Senior Strategist designs and drives media and marketing strategies and activation programs that improve the performance of the client brands, provides strategic direction for assigned clients, and should understand all aspects of the client’s business as well as the overall technology/competitive landscape. The Senior Strategist reports to the Strategy Director.
What is this role about?
- Defining compelling and innovative media, marketing, and communication strategies that bring tangible business outcomes for our clients.
- Consulting clients on a wider scope than just media (your strength could be e Commerce, data analytics, CX, Brand Strategy, Digital consulting, marketing effectiveness, or some other marketing-related superpower).
- Understanding current trends affecting human behavior and utilizing that in the work for our clients.
- Delivering day-to-day strategic work and high-level consultative service for clients in the core client team with the client director and project management. Stewarding strategies through to execution in collaboration with internal and external teams, including clients, colleagues in dentsu (especially research, data, and media specialists), other agencies (creative, research, events), as well as representatives of media companies.
- Contributing to or repurposing agency thought leadership for clients around a client's business/category, media landscape, culture, and consumer.
- Utilizing dentsu’s planning model.
- Building an in-depth understanding of the objectives and target audience motives and behavior.
- Partnering with insights to understand how audiences will contribute to achieving the overall business goals.
- Refining them into a strategic platform and actionable media plans, including KPI metrics and optimization opportunities.
- Briefing working teams and partners for ideation, leading and steering brainstorms.
- Developing and delivering award-worthy work through creative media solutions.
- Guiding the development of client presentations.
What is needed to perform in this position?
- Advanced understanding of marketing, media, branding, and communications concepts, tools, and metrics.
- Proficiency in understanding the clients’ business model, objectives, and challenges, the external economic environment, and the markets the clients operate in.
- Clear view of the role marketing plays in reaching client business objectives.
- Ability to convert data analysis into insights, compelling strategies, impactful media plans, and creative activation solutions.
- Outstanding presentation and communication skills.
- Social and positive team player.
- Ambition and eagerness for responsibility.
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study.
- 3-5 years of experience as a strategist, preferably within advertising and communications agencies.
