Responsibilities:
Learn Cogent network architecture and various types of IP equipment

Learn various tools and Cogent standards

Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and Statement of Work (SOW) for a variety of IP network augmentation projects, from simple network add to more complex ones

Approval of customer orders: evaluate those requiring minimal engineering to provision and prepare the necessary work

Create and update engineering drawings, maps and databases

Identify the need of and propose network upgrade

Partner with outside organizations (Field, NOC, IP Engineering) to evaluate and solve constraints

Expect to grow and take on additional and more advanced network planning tasks within two years

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Networking or equivalent

2+ years’ experience with IP Architecture and Networking

Excellent verbal communication and documentation skills

Good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with others on a team

Superior skills in Microsoft Office tools, including Access, Excel, and Visio

Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments as well as high levels of organizational skills

Ability and willingness to learn, and a positive can-do attitude
