Context and Environment:
- Hydrogen is vital in reducing CO2 emissions in hard-to-abate sectors such as long-haul heavy-duty transport.
- The joint venture aims to develop 100 hydrogen refuelling stations in Europe over the next decade to promote H2-based decarbonization of heavy-duty mobility.
- Significant subsidies are available at European, national, and regional levels to support hydrogen infrastructure development.
- Key players and competitors are actively developing similar or complementary transport solutions.
Activities:
- Project Development: Lead the development of hydrogen retail stations (public/private/mobile) for on-road mobility, focusing on heavy-duty transport, with potential expansion to public transport (buses).
- Lead Analysis & Assessment: Evaluate project leads and manage selected projects until the Final Investment Decision (FID). Coordinate with construction engineers and stakeholders, including affiliates, national/local authorities, and specific partners.
- Business Case Definition: Define integrated value chain business cases for each station, securing key elements (plots, critical customers, subsidies, partners), and build the economic case for management decisions.
- Sales & Customer Relationship: Manage pricing, sales, margins, cash collection, and critical customer relationships. Find and contract customers, ensuring project viability and managing key customer relationships post-station creation in collaboration with marketing and customer relationship teams.
- Country Integration: Report on key highlights, market trends, and competition. Represent the joint venture in national associations, working groups, and cross-functional structures, adhering to fair competition principles.
- Lead H2 projects to FID, securing key elements (plots, subsidies, customer commitments) for project viability.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to adhere to project timelines and transition projects to the operations team.
- Post-operation, manage sales, margins, customer management, and cash collection for assigned customers as per the commercialization agreement.
- Focus on customer contractualisation: early commitments (LOIs), customer contracts, and key customer management in the early years of the JV, with marketing and customer relationship support.
- Manage grants and subsidies with the finance department and affiliates.
- Draft, negotiate, and finalize relevant contracts with legal support.
- Collaborate with operations managers on technical solutions, permits, and quotes.
- Represent the H2 MS Business Unit within the H2 network, both internally and externally.
- Education: Master’s degree in a technical or business administration field.
- Experience: 5-7 years in relevant fields like EV Charging Infrastructure, including business and project development, project management, business analysis and strategy, contracting, and negotiation. Affinity with clean energies and technologies is essential. Must possess strong communication skills and persuasive abilities.
- Knowledge: Proficient in English and the local language; French proficiency is a plus. Existing network in hydrogen and new energies is advantageous.
