Consumer Marketing Intern - Germany

We enable consumers to exchange funds more safely with merchants using a variety of funding sources, which may include a bank account, a Pay Pal or Venmo account balance, Pay Pal and Venmo branded credit products, a credit card, a debit card, certain cryptocurrencies, or other stored value products such as gift cards, and eligible credit card rewards. Our Pay Pal, Venmo, and Xoom products also make it safer and simpler for friends and family to transfer funds to each other. We offer merchants an end-to-end payments solution that provides authorization and settlement capabilities, as well as instant access to funds and payouts. We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

Job Description:
Meet our team
The German Marketing team is responsible for customer acquisition and customer engagement in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (DEATCH) for Pay Pal. This role reports to the Head of Vertical Marketing & Partnerships DEATCH (tbc). This role also collaborates with and interfaces with our broader Marketing teams within Europe and globally and supporting functions such as Analytics or Marketing Operations for execution.
Your way to Impact
You will own projects in 3 areas:
- Support the team in launching key seasonal product-related campaigns and/or doing co-marketing campaigns with key merchants, developing creative assets for owned, paid and also merchant channels, ensuring that deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Support the team to drive customer lifetime value and (re-)activate our customer base with dedicated teams, in collaboration with local and global stakeholders and agencies.
- Support the team in special tasks, projects or in preparing presentations
Your day to day
- Provide support to ensure a best-in-class implementation and execution of our Global Marketing strategies and programs to drive acquisition and growth.
- Partner with our marketing team to support their core marketing tasks and help to grow and optimize our digital marketing programs. This includes the creation of concepts and implementation of marketing campaigns as well as own projects.
- Support the planning and operational of multi-channel campaigns, support the conceptual work of marketing campaigns and handle third party agencies for creation and localization of assets.
- Work in collaboration with internal stakeholders scaling programs to the region
- Help with the preparation of market deep dives and other management presentations, collating insights from market research and internal dashboards to understand trends in consumer behavior.
- Competitor benchmarking and assessment and understanding of consumer trends in the DEATCH market.
What do you need to bring-
Job Requirements
- Passion for digital marketing techniques and interest in customer behavior.
- Very organized and strong attention to detail.
- Interested in quantitative (data-driven) and qualitative customer insights
- Autonomous, coming with own proposals and initiatives.
- Collaborative, eager to work in an international environment and across multiple teams.
- Team spirit, entrepreneurship, eagerness to take responsibility, sense of humor.
- Action-oriented personality with strong work ethic
- Fluency in German and English.
- Excellent skills in MS-Office
Education Required
- Studying a Marketing or related degree (>= 2 years)
- Ideally first practical experiences
- Available to start on a 6-month full time basis from April 2025
