At the University of Göttingen -Public Law Foundation-, Department für Agrarökonomie und Rurale Entwicklung, there is a position as to be filled. Starting date is as soon as possible. The position is limited to 3 years.

We are offering a full-time, three-year post-doctoral position at the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development at the Georg-August University of Goettingen in Germany. The position will be hosted at the Chair of Nutrition and Agriculture (Prof. Liesbeth Colen) and in the collaborative project ZERN (Zukunft Ernährung Niedersachsen / Future of Nutrition Lower Saxony - https://zern-verbund.de ), funded by the Ministry of Science and Culture of Lower Saxony and the Volkswagen foundation.
The postdoc is expected to participate in ongoing research activities and to develop independent research initiatives within the broad intersection of economics, agriculture and nutrition. The range of possible research topics is wide, and includes sustainable and healthy food system transformation, the welfare implications of food, agricultural, or trade policies; demand system analysis; the role of food environments; consumer, firm or policy-maker behaviour. Innovative research ideas in related fields are also welcomed. Research approaches should primarily be quantitative in nature, with a focus on rigorous econometric and/or experimental analysis.

Key Requirements:

• Ph D in food or agricultural economics, development economics, environmental economics, or a related field
• Proven research activity (publications or working papers)
• Strong quantitative and data analysis skills
• Experience in the analysis of primary survey data and/or secondary data
• Excellent English proficiency
• Personal initiative, team player and strong communication skills
