Job Responsibilities:
The Production Planner – Impella Assembly will have responsibility for scheduling and planning Impella production as well as providing routine reporting on status of production and inventory. The Production Planner will be responsible for meeting objectives in the areas of quality, delivery, and cost while complying with all internal as well as external policies and procedures. The Planner will promote and drive Lean and Continuous Improvement as it relates to flow of work to streamline the Impella Value Stream. Manage the manufacturing operations by planning production schedules, engineering builds, and materials requirements. This role will work very closely with the Production Managers in Aachen and Danvers as well as the Operational Excellence, Supply Chain, Logistics, Quality and Engineering teams.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Further developing of a standard transactional production scheduling to optimize the way of todays planning tasks.
- Analyze product demand, sales patterns, forecasts, production specifications and plant capacity data.
- Plan, allocate resources and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and delivery reliability
- Effecting changes to production schedules to ensure that production delivery goals are met
- Determine and if applicable adapting manpower, equipment and materials needed to cover production demand
- Ensure optimal stock level of raw materials, WIP and finished goods in observance of the financial controlling guidelines
- Identifies raw material and component requirements to fulfill the production plan
- Responsible for the expansion of digital production using ERP-Systems like SAP S4 HANA and Manufacturing Execution Systems like CAMSTAR/ OPCenter
- Being involved and engaged in daily production management to be aware and informed of production constraints and escalations
- Recommending viable solutions to reduce inefficiencies as well as improve production processes.
- Compiling status and performance reports including data maintenance.
- Promptly informing the relevant departments of changes to current production schedules.
- Create production planning and inventory scenarios such that business decisions are supported
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or related field is preferred. Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) accreditation or other relevant certification is advantageous.
- Proven experience working as a Production Planner is preferred.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
- Sound knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP), ERP and MES Systems preferably SAP S4Hana and Camstar/Op Center
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills.
