Great Lakes Insurance SE conducts agency, large single risk and group retrocession business on a global scale. As a specialty provider of primary insurance services Great Lakes is an integral part of the MR Group and an important enabler for Primary Insurance Specialty business (PIRI – Primary Insurance out of Reinsurance). Our PIRI strategy is to seize opportunities closely connected to our reinsurance core business. and also from our interlocked business with ERGO. Outsourcing of services is an essential element of Great Lakes’ business model. Great Lakes largely outsources services to Munich Re units as well as through delegation to agents and external claims providers (TPAs) in order to achieve maximum synergies and an efficient operation. We are looking for a further colleague to strengthen our claims oversight capabilities.
Your Job
- Assess the current oversight activities and further develop an overarching Claims Great Lakes guideline/ framework with the intention of obtaining a consistent picture for all outsourced claims services (including international branch operations) in line with Solvency II requirements.
- Further develop and maintain a consistent reporting framework for the Board of Management enabling efficient control and monitoring
- Negotiate, maintain and monitor Service Level Agreements with internal and external outsourcing counterparts for claims services regarding claims service units’ compliance and performance
- Build an intelligent monitoring system and conduct claims consultations to mitigate conduct and reputational risk, and to ensure appropriate financial outcomes, for both delegated authority as well as single risks business
- Support business development activities, e.g. through working with branches and ERGO to identify and customize claims service offerings such as loss detection or establishment of a network of claims third-party administrators (TPAs).
- Claims Management Expertise in primary and reinsurance as well as across several lines of business (Non-Life and Health)
- Legal education or other appropriate university degree or qualifications such as the ACII
- German, EU and/or London Market experience as well as knowledge of legal and regulatorysystems; US market knowledge is a strong plus
- Good management skills and abilities
- Good internal and external network with lawyers and other service providers
- Strong written and verbal communication in English and German; any additional languages are beneficial
