Senior Research Fellow in AI for Biomedicine (m/f/d)

This position, within the group of Prof. Dr. Sach Mukherjee, is an opportunity to contribute to developing new AI and ML concepts and methods for cutting edge biomedical research at one of Germany's leading research institutions.

Your role in detail

• This is an opportunity to contribute to developing new AI and ML concepts and methods for cutting edge biomedical research at one of Germany's leading research institutions.
• Our research efforts centre on AI and machine learning (ML) methods for next-generation biomedicine.
• Current foci include deep neural networks for causal and out-of-distribution (OOD) learning; scientifically-informed inductive biases; and high-dimensional, multi-modal data.
• Applications span large-scale molecular biology and "omics" as well as precision medicine.

Your qualifications

• We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a Ph D in a relevant area (e.g. core AI, machine learning, computational statistics) and a track record of methodological innovation.
• A strong background in fundamental ML, AI or statistics is important as well as excellent computational skills.
• Prior experience in biomedical research is not required.
• German language ability is not required.
