About this role

At Novocarbo, we work as a team to accelerate the economy’s transformation to Net Zero: Our goal is to store 100 million tons of CO2 from the atmosphere in Biochar-based products.

We are one of the largest producers and distributors of Biochar in Europe and sell our Carbon Removal Credits to renowned companies worldwide. Several new production sites for our Biochar and Green Energy are already in the pipeline. To continue this positive momentum, we are looking for a Senior Sales Manager in our Heat-as-a-Serviceteam to secure future energy off-take agreements, which are key for future new biochar production projects.

Following tasks are in focus of your role

• You lead potential Heat-as-a-Service (Haa S) customers through the full sales cycle, including commercial and technical feasibility checks, initial discussions with authorities, pricing negotiations, and contract signature.
• You conduct in-depth market and industry sector analyses, researching potential partner companies and explore new industries.
• You test and define gold strategies on how to approach focus industry sectors and refine our current customer acquisition and development process.
• You work hand in hand with our Project Management Team to ensure flawless transition from initial site planning to actual project management (permitting, engineering, construction…) after you secured the lease contracts and the energy offtake agreement.
• You guide and coach our junior team members by sharing your expertise and knowledge, whenever working on shared projects.

Your profile

These are your professional qualifications we’d appreciate:

• You bring extensive experience (>10 years) working in the energy & utilities industry and at least 5 years in B2B sales, ideally energy related sales and energy contracting.
• You thrive through engaging with potential clients in longterm sales cycles (> 6 months), applying patience and empathy as much as excellent in-depth negotiation skills.
• Stakeholder management is one of your top priorities: you are able to form and develop quality relationships with stakeholders at various hierarchical levels and with different profiles.
• You communicate fluently in German and English. Any other language is a plus.
• You have a strong IT-tool affinity: we mainly work with MS 365 and Notion.

These are your personal qualifications we’d appreciate:

• You have a good understanding of complex environments and growing industries and can easily navigate through the Carbon Removal sector and renewable energies.
• You are empathic, able keep up with various things at the same time and like to exchange your knowledge with more junior colleagues.
• You bring in a high level of accountability and willingness to drive our projects to success.
• You use a strong, data-driven and analytical mindset to quickly familiarize yourself with new topics as well as identifying and solving problems.
• You are able and willing to occasionally travel in- and outside of Germany (depending on projects).
