The Role
You are responsible for the system development within our business unit about cooling and heating of batteries, cabins, e-motors and more, that means:

• Drive and develop the concept design of our Thermo-Management Systems (TMS) for various applications
• Translate customer demands into TMS design with regards to our modular and scalable platform of components
• Participate in customer meetings to understand requirements and challenges and educate our customers in Ymer specific solutions
• Create technical specifications within the scope of TMS
• Technically coordinate and steer the component suppliers
• Define, specify, and technically pick the components for the system & develop methods for testing and validation of those
• Verify & validate components for series usage
• Support sales, engineering, operations and purchasing with technical expertise
• Support production with technical expertise and hands – on mentality
• Present system solutions and alternative solutions to meet and exceed customer demands for now and define the future system to keep our product interesting to our customers

After 3 months, you…

• are familiar with our company products, know-how and main applications
• have gained a good understanding of our TMS and our future development steps
• have a clear understanding of our current components catalogue
• Eo L – test experience to make things easier
• are familiar with the claim process at Ymer and you have the first ideas to improve
• know about our component specifications and the process behind it
• understand our different customer applications and the differences & similarities between them

After 12 months you…

• are on the same level as our current System Engineer
• know our suppliers and interfaces in person and are actively defining new components
• have developed ideas how to further standardize our components catalogue with regards to outer flexibility at inner simplicity
• have initially operated first prototypes at customer machines together with our application engineers
• have applied new test standards and validated new components accordingly

why will you perform well in the role

• Bachelor / Master degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Fluid / Thermo dynamics with strong background or interest in engineering or equivalent business experience
• Experienced with components specification, development & validation
• Ideally experienced, but not mandatory, in the field of thermal dynamics in terms of heating, cooling and/or air conditioning systems
• Main understanding of battery electric vehicles and the effects, HV-system requirements have on the component development for such vehicles
• Ideally with background in automotive or Off-Highway business
• Fluent in German and English

• Specialises on customized cooling solutions for Off Highway (Diesel and other engines) and is developing into thermal management solutions for Electric and Hybrid Machines

• Is actively expanding into new markets like Thermal Management Systems (TMS®) for electric Off-Highway Machines and has an innovation spirit
• Has won successful initial projects with thermal management systems for electric and hybrid machines with well-known OEM customers in Europe and the US
• Is now starting an own business unit to further focus and grow in this market, which is located in the West of Munich
