BTP ABAP (Business Technology Platform ABAP), at the heart of SAP's technical foundation, shapes the global enterprise application landscape. In our dynamic unit, BTP ABAP AI, we drive ABAP's AI innovation and shape the vison of tomorrow, exploring the integration of Generative AI in ABAP Platform to unlock efficiency potential for ourselves, customers, and partners. We are seeking a Technical Project Manager for BTP ABAP AI with a strong background in AI technologies to join our team. Your role involves delivering and monitoring projects which are innovatively applying AI solutions to ABAP Platform.

Responsibilities:

AI Strategy Development in ABAP Context: support the execution of AI strategies that align with our BTP ABAP vision and business objectives.
Project Management: Manage AI project lifecycle from inception to rollout within ABAP tools, focusing on timely execution and adherence to high-quality standards, managing project timelines, resources, and deliverables.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Close cooperation with multiple global and cross-functional teams from AI Engineers and Developers to Product Managers and GTM/Commercialization experts.
Communication and Monitoring: Communicate project progress, escalations, and issue analysis to product stakeholders, highlighting strategic recommendations.
Risk Management: Proactively identify risks associated with the programs and projects, develop mitigation strategies, and manage the resolution of issues as they arise. Develop contingency plans to address potential challenges and ensure project success.
Scope and Planning: Define and articulate project goals, aligning them with the strategic objectives of the organization to ensure they support long-term business success.

What you bring

Applicants for this position should have a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field,
At least 3-5 year of relevant work experience in project, program or product experience.
Strong project management skills, with expertise in agile and waterfall methodologies
Good overview of AI trends and technology, like Generative AI, natural language processing (NLP), large language models (LLM) or traditional ML /AI model training and proven experience with implementation AI innovations for ABAP solutions.
Customer engagement and implementation experience
Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential, emphasizing the ability to work well in global and cross-cultural team, with experience in preparing presentations for the stakeholders using metrics, data, and KPIs tracking
Fluency in English is a must for this role and German will be of added value.
Ideally understanding of ABAP development principles, SAP systems and programming models and technologies (S/4 HANA and BTP)
