The Role

We are looking for an Application Engineer to join our industry leading Nalco Water team in Athens, Greece. The role reports directly to the Area Manager of Nalco Water, Greece.

You will be joining a talented team that supports water treatment applications for a variety of industries. In this position, you will manage and develop long standing client relationships, with an intense focus on exceeding client expectations and driving service delivery.

You will have a hands-on approach to service and deliver value through developing and managing technical projects to solve customer problems. As an Application Engineer, you will be based in Athens and work with some of the leading manufacturing customers in South Greece.



What you will do

Key responsibilities include:

• 
  Provide technical assistance in the exploitation of the customer’s process units and water treatment facilities.
  
• 
  Provide sample collection and physicochemical analyses.
  
• 
  Diagnose, repair, or adjust equipment and train customers in these procedures.
  
• 
  Adjust chemical dosages/applications, when necessary, at assigned accounts.
  
• 
  Perform activities that create a high level of customer satisfaction, including the provision of accurate reports and effective customer communication and relationships.
  
• 
  Assist with on-site customer training utilizing operating training materials at assigned accounts.
  
• 
  Assumes fully service responsibilities within an assigned territory and acts according to agreed servicing plan.
  
• 
  Participate in the development of solutions to improve the performance of the customer’s process and water treatment.
  
• 
  Recommends technical solutions and implementation.
  
• 
  Services assigned accounts, calls on customer facilities, observes and implements practical application of products.
  
• 
  Maintains close contact the rest of the sales team regarding account activity, customer needs, prices, competitor activity, and product acceptability.
  

What you’ll need

• 
  University Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field of study.
  
  
  


• 
  Experience in a similar role will be considered a plus.
  
• 
  Excellent knowledge of English language (verbal & written communication).
  
• 
  Computer literacy (MS Office, Internet etc.)
  
  
  


• 
  Clean Driving license & good driving experience.
  
• 
  Flexibility for Business travel (across South Greece).
  
• 
  Result oriented, ability to work with sales objectives & stressful deadlines.
  
• 
  Able to work independently as well as in a team.
