The MPFA was set up in September 1998 under the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance (Cap. 485). Our mission is to regulate and supervise privately managed provident fund schemes; to educate the working population about saving for retirement and the role of the MPF System as one of the pillars supporting retirement living; and to lead improvements to provident fund schemes to make them more efficient and user-friendly, and better meet the needs of the working population.

The Job

Carry out programming tasks and web design according to specifications;

Prepare test plan, test cases, test environments and conduct testing;

Support user acceptance test and system implementation;

Provide on-going user and application support;

Assist in providing user training and support to enable users to operate systems effectively;

Prepare and maintain system documentation according to the guidelines and standards;

Assist Systems Analyst in user requirement collection, system analysis and design; and

Perform other duties as assigned.

The Person

A recognized degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent;

At least two years of solid post-graduate experience in IT application development of which one year must be in similar post and in a comparable capacity while proficiency in the following is a must:

Java/J2EE

Relational databases (e.g. Oracle with PL/SQL and / or MS SQL)

Knowledge in the following would be an advantage:
Spring Framework, RESTful API, JSF/ICEfaces, ACE components

i BATIS, my BATIS, Hibernate

Java Script, CSS, HTML, XML, JSON, React JS

Responsive web design

Hands-on technical experience in 3-tier and web development;

Conversant with SDLC development methodology;

Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;

Good interpersonal, communication, problem solving and analytical skills;

Able to work independently while reporting progress as necessary;

Good working attitude, flexible and a good team player; and

Candidate with less experience with good aptitude / personal attributes may also be considered.

Remuneration Package

A competitive remuneration and benefits package including a discretionary performance-linked variable pay, annual leave, medical, dental and life insurance coverage, and MPF will be offered. All new appointments will be made on a two-year fixed-term contract initially prior to consideration for appointment on a non-fixed-term basis.
